1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions (Terms) apply to all vehicle servicing, repairs and related work carried out by Mechmaster (we, us, our), and to your use of our website and any online forms or booking tools (Services).
By booking your vehicle in, leaving your vehicle with us, signing a job card, approving a quote or using this website, you (you, customer) are taken to have accepted these Terms.
2. Bookings & inspections
- Booking dates and times are subject to availability and may change if earlier jobs overrun or parts are delayed.
- We may recommend an initial inspection or diagnostic appointment before committing to major work.
- We may decline or reschedule a booking if the vehicle is unsafe, heavily modified or unsuitable for our equipment.
- If you are unable to attend your booking, please let us know as early as possible so we can reallocate the time.
3. Quotes, pricing & authorisation
- Any prices or estimates given verbally, by SMS, email or via this website are indicative only until we have inspected the vehicle.
- Once inspected, we will provide a quote or range for the recommended work where reasonably possible. Complex faults may require staged diagnosis and pricing.
-
We will not proceed with major additional work without your approval, except where:
- the work is necessary for safety, or
- the additional cost is minor and incidental to the approved work.
- All pricing is in Australian dollars (AUD) and is inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
- If unexpected issues are discovered once work has started (for example seized fasteners, hidden damage or prior poor repairs), we will contact you with updated pricing options where practical.
4. Parts, oils & workmanship
- We use parts, fluids and consumables that are suitable for the vehicle and its intended use, and will use genuine or equivalent quality components where required to protect your warranty.
- On some jobs we may offer you a choice between genuine, OEM-equivalent or aftermarket parts at different price points.
- Removed parts may be disposed of by us unless you ask to view or retain them at the time of booking or authorisation.
- For some specialist work (for example panel & paint, machining, auto electrical), we may engage trusted external providers on your behalf. Their own warranties and terms will apply in addition to ours.
5. Warranty & Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to certain guarantees in relation to services we provide, including that they will be carried out with due care and skill and will be reasonably fit for their purpose.
- We stand behind our workmanship for a reasonable period, taking into account the type of work, vehicle condition and how it is used.
- If you experience an issue that may relate to recent work we have performed, please contact us as soon as possible so we can inspect the vehicle and discuss the next steps with you.
- Our responsibility is limited to the work we have carried out and the parts we have supplied. We are not responsible for unrelated faults, pre‐existing issues or failures arising from misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, modifications or normal wear and tear.
6. Customer responsibilities
- Ensure you are authorised to request work on the vehicle (as owner, lessee or authorised representative).
- Provide accurate and complete information about the vehicle, its history and any concerns you have noticed.
- Remove personal items and valuables from the vehicle before leaving it with us.
- Make sure the vehicle is reasonably clean and safe to work on. Excessive mud, contamination or unsafe accessories may require extra labour or cleaning.
- Collect the vehicle promptly once you are notified that it is ready, or let us know if you require additional time.
7. Payment, storage & uncollected vehicles
- Payment is generally required in full when the vehicle is collected, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept the payment methods advertised at the workshop and on this website (which may change from time to time).
- If a vehicle is not collected within a reasonable time after completion, we may charge storage fees at a daily rate to cover on-site space and security.
- Where a vehicle remains uncollected and unpaid, we may exercise any rights available to us under applicable law (including, where relevant, the disposal of uncollected goods) after providing reasonable notice to you.
8. Road testing & liability
- You authorise us to drive and road test the vehicle as reasonably required for diagnosis, quality control and safety checks.
- While in our care we will take reasonable precautions to protect the vehicle. We maintain appropriate insurance for workshop operations and road testing.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as loss of income, loss of opportunity, hire car costs or inconvenience caused by delays or faults, except to the extent that such loss cannot be excluded under the ACL.
9. Website use

10. Privacy & communications
- We collect and use your personal information (such as contact details and vehicle information) for workshop bookings, service history and related purposes.
- We may contact you by phone, SMS or email to confirm bookings, discuss work, provide updates or send reminders that a service may be due.
- We handle personal information in line with our Privacy approach and applicable Australian privacy laws. If you have questions about how your information is used, please contact the workshop.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements or business practices. The version published on this website at the time you make a booking or authorise work will generally apply to that job.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria and the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force and effect.
If you have any questions or concerns about these Terms & Conditions, please contact the Mechmaster team before authorising work on your vehicle.
